They also include information on the locations of existing town roads, correspondence relating to the rebuilding of Cordaville, safety inspections conducted on town roads, and reports of the Selectmen and Road Commission relating to town ways. Scope and Contents

This volume includes "true copies of the locations and laying-out of roads", and well as orders for building roads. The majority of the book is typewritten, and a chronological index of documents is included at the front of the volume. Most of the original documents can be found either in "Road Petitions and Town Lines" or "Laying-out of Roads". The volume is labeled "Roads: 1894" on its spine, however the documents contained actually span from 1723-1924.

Scope and Contents Records relating to the placement of roads in Southborough extend back to 1723, predating the Town of Southborough itself which did not break away from Marlborough until 1727.
