38) Letter from Mrs. Dora Bercume of Spencer Massachusetts regarding her application for soldiers aid. Mrs. Bercume’s husband was at the Chelsea Naval Hospital and had developed hernias. 39) Communication from the Commissioners of State Military Aid to the Town of Southborough relative to the application of Dora Bercume. The commission stated that it would have no objection to approving a fifteen dollar per month aid, but requested Mrs. Bercume first fill out a Certificate of Reasons (1/21/1926). 40) Letter from the Town of Spencer to the Southborough Selectmen urging that relief be provided for the family of Israel Bercume and requesting reimbursement for fees already accrued by the Town (1/22/1926). 41) Letter from Leo P. Bercume to the Southborough Selectmen outlying livestock owned by his brother Israel Bercume’s family and requesting aid for Israel’s family since he and his brothers were unable to continue carrying the burden of providing them with meat. 42) Letter from the Town of Spencer to the Southborough Selectmen outlining the hardships endured by the family of Israel Bercume and attesting to the fact that they were in destitute condition and worthy candidates for aid (2/4/1926). Preservation Actions

This volume underwent conservation treatment in 2020 at Kofile Inc.

Treatment Summary: Record removed from binding. Presence of tape, staples and or fasteners were removed. Pages surface cleaned. Tears mended with Japanese tissue or filmoplast heat set tissue. Pages deacidified by application of magnesium oxide. Sheets encapsulated in archival grade PET polyester envelopes. Volume bound in quality record binder.
