Record of Diseases Dangerous to the Public Health, 1953 - 1960
Scope and Contents
Bound ledger book including the name, address, occupation, and age of the afflicted individual, the nature of their illness (i.e. chicken-pox, dog bites, eye infections, mumps, smallpox, measles, meningitis, diphtheria, dysentery, tuberculosis, yellow fever, whooping cough, scarlet fever, influenza, etc.), the date the illness began, the date notice was received by the board of health, the name of the person reporting the case (often a physician or school nurse), entities notified of the health hazard (i.e. the State Department of Health, Board of Labor, School Department, or Librarian), isolation and quarantine notes, laboratory tests and findings, and remarks regarding cleaning, disinfection, recovery, and death of the afflicted when applicable.
