Index to Births, Marriages, Deaths, 1718 - 1804
Scope and Contents
In addition to a general index, this volume contains some original correspondence regarding early vital records that has been interleaved between pages. A pair of two letters from the 1860’s provide abstracts of birth, marriage and death dates for the Ball family of Southborough from 1707-1772. The information was gleaned from the Ball family bible because it had not originally been recorded in the town records. Another document from 1893 amends the birth dates of the children of Caleb and Huldah Witherbee (1742-1752), which had been worn, and the dates faded.
