Scope and Contents
On May 28, 1912, the Marlborough-Hudson Gas Company petitioned the Selectmen in Southborough for permission to “dig up and open the ground in the streets, lanes, and highways in the Town [...] for the purpose of laying, maintaining, and repairing pipes for transmitting gas between Framingham and Marlborough, and supplying gas to the inhabitants of Southborough”. The Town granted their request when it entered into a contract with the Marlborough-Hudson gas Company on August 13th, 1912.
