Scope and Contents

Statewide statistics relating to the care of the poor, organized by county and town. For each town these include: number of persons relieved or supported during the year, number of supported persons who were of foreign birth or disabled, number of almshouses in the town, estimated value of almshouse establishment(s), operating costs, net expenses, and amount received from the Commonwealth for the support of State Paupers.
